Memories of Knots Landing - one of the Best Dramas ever!

Knots Landing is and has been one of the best dramas in the history of television. I have taped every single episode and enjoy re-watching the story-lines and characters evolve. It would be extremely hard for me to choose a favorite actor/character because everyone made their character their own and kept the fans interested by constantly growing without changing completely. Having said that; I must admit that William Devane is one who totally immersed himself in what his character was about and made it so real that it would have been impossible for anyone to replace him. He took that character and owned it. I haven"t seen that kind of growth, creativity and talent in anyone since and I wish he was still performing. Knots will always be my favorite show and I will always be a huge fan.

This is my favorite show of all time. I love the character development of each person. I have so many favorite episodes such as the one about Val who is forced to overdose on pills by another woman who is then found dead in the truck of Vals husbands car. The characters are so real. There are strong marriages, weak marriages, deathes, abuse, kidnapping, love, family. It is the most true to life show I have ever seen.

Knots Landing was THE show to watch in the Awesome80s. In many ways it reflected the real life goings on in the suburbs of Southern California at that time. From the divorces to the miscarriages and drug addiction many of uf that lived in Southern California at that tome needed to look no further than our own back yards to see reflections of Knots. Donna Mills is THE grand dame of TV bitches. I think she gave Amanda on Melrose Place some lessons…

I've been re-watching the series again on Soap Net, and have been really surprised at how well it holds up. I always remember Abby worming her way between Gary and Val, destroying their marriage. However, seeing it again, years later, that story line seems much less black and white. Abby is not the one dimensional villianess I knew as a teenager. I'm looking forward to my favorite Abby scene, when she leaves the cul-de-sac for good, in a limo, singing "Don't Worry Be Happy. "

What a show! I grew up with it, and it is still my favorite of all time. . . such great character development and plots. My all time favorite episode is the one where they find Valene's twins, and she sees them going down the street in a car. . .

My favorite character combo was, though, Paige and Tom. . . Most people disagree and like Paige's relationship with Sumner better, but Tom and her were so hot together.

The reason why I like Knots Landing was the fact that it was diffrent from the other primetime soaps @ that time. There was no wealthy family living in a big mansion it was about ordinary people who have extraordinary things happen to them. E! should do an E! True Hollywood Story on the series a 2hr episode.
