    Favorite Room 222 episodes

I watched the show when it aired in the seventies. I like the episode that dealt with a student who had leukemia. I like the way that the people bonded. A similar situation happened thirty years later in real life (my life) Someone that I knew (a sixteen yeear old boy contracted leukemia). I saw the Room 222 show shortly after my friend died. I was touched in a different way than when I saw it the first time, since I had known someone who faced this disease. I basically liked all of the shows, but I liked that one best.

[My favorite episode was] this one episode where Alice Johnson (Karen Valentine)was trying to tutor an inner city child, but was being intimidated by the child's older brother. Could you tell me the name of that particular episode? I fell in love with Karen after that.

My favorite episode was the one where a radio station was biult in the school. I was in grade school then, and I have always been fascinated with radio. I was fortunate enough to go to a high school which had a 10-watt FM radio station like the one in Room 222.

    Re: Favorite Room 222 episodes

My favorite two episodes hit very close to home for me and my family. The first was the episode where there was a Native American student and the stereotype the other students expected of him. My family is Native American experienced much the same when we moved to an area where we were the only Native American family.

The second was when a young man who had gone to Vietnam came home and attended Walt Whitman for his senior year. I don't remember how he was drafted out of school but the episode was him trying to adjust to a world foreign to him. I do remember him wanting to try out for one of the athletic teams and being told he was too old.

My older brother had failed a grade so was already 18 when he started 12th grade. He received his draft notice before Christmas and left for boot camp. He never went back to the high school. He went to night school when he came home.

I liked the series when I was a kid. A far better show then Boston Public in my opinion.
