    Favorite episodes of White Shadow

The episode in which Hayward seeks vengeance for his pal who OD'ed is excellent. Haven't seen it since early Awesome80s. Also dug the Albert Hodges episode-cat returning to school from the slammer. (Remember the abnormal genes/abnormal hormones scene?) Mac Wade episode stands out-All World Caucasian player transfers to Carver, turns out cat's illiterate. This is one of my alltime favorite shows from adolescence. Wasn't former Heisman Trophy winner Charles White a guest star while he was a holdout from the Cleveland Browns?

Re: Favorite episodes of White Shadow

I didn't start watching White Shadow until the second season and have caught the episodes from the first season on ESPN Classic and I like them as much now as I did ten years ago when the series was on. My very favorite episode is hard to pick out, but the storylines from then would fit in today, too. I did like watching the episode when they dealt with the death of the Curtis Jackson in the liquor store hold up and the way everyone dealt with it on the team, because a lot of those things are still happening out there. And the episode of the cop who became violent with Thorpe was before the Rodney King incident or the latest incidents, which shows that it could still fit in today.

My favorite episode was the final one of the 2nd season, that culminated w/ Curtis Jackson being shot and killed in a robbery. It was very poignant and touching, and it showed the reality of inner-city life a decade before other mainstream TV shows. What made that particular episode outstanding were the final 2 scenes, where CJ's younger brother cleaned out CJ's locker and accepted the team's city championship award with the team. Truly an example of great TV writing!

Yeah, my favorite episode was when Morris Thorpe got syphilis. Even though I was only 8, I knew I wasn't going to have sex (whatever it was, whenever I would eventually find out what it was) until I was 45 and they had a cure. Didn't quite make it to 45, but it was a good show.

The one episode I really like was when the Carver basketball team had to play the Harlem Globetrotters. My favorite character is Salami - I thought he was the coolest one. He was also the toughest player on the team, he knew how to box. I've seen that actor( Timothy Van Patten) in this one movie years ago called "Class of 1984", he played a tough gang leader. That actor also directed some episodes of the HBO series "The Sopranos". I wish can get all the episodes of the "The White Shadow" on video or dvd.

This show just brings back memories. As a kid watching this show was right around the time I became very interested in basketball.I went to a all white school and had never really knew much about black culture.I thought this program kind of let me know things about another race.I enjoyed this show a lot and never missed it.

My favorite show may have been the one where Coach Reeves almost decides to return to the NBA yet stays at Carver. Also the one where Coolidge is enticed by a sports agent and almost goes pro. That episode is so much like reality today it is scary.

The Super70s had the best shows and this was one of them, at least for a sports junkie such as myself.

My favorite episodes here was the one "Pregnant Pause" where a girl accuses one of the players of knocking her up, and "We're In The Money", where some team members find a casino owner's wallet while competing in LasVegas- and return it to him !!!
