    Memories of Sixth Sense

I get the Night Gallery episodes with Gary Collins mixed up with the Sixth Sense, but I remember being scared of both shows as a kid! I remember one where Collins had playing cards with different pictures on them; in one a man was being subjected to Pit and the Pendulun type torture and he found himself in that position later. Another had a dead man kept frozen in an iron-lung type contraption and came back to life. I had nightmares over that one forever!

    Re: Memories of Sixth Sense

I remember watching the series and that's all. However, because I was only about nine or ten, I don't remember them in detail. I do know one thing: Gary Collins would tap into his ESP ability by staring into some kind of medallion. I have the ABC "Movie of the Week" feature that was the pilot for the show. The pilot was called "Sweet, Sweet Rachel" and it starred Stephanie Powers, Pat Hingle, and Alex Drier who played Dr. Lucas Darrow. Now why the main character's name changed when the series got under way is beyond me (name was changed to Dr. Michael Rhodes when Gary Collins stepped in). But it seems that this particular show had a choppy and disjointed history production-wise. Being an ugly duckling sort of kid, I was fascinated by anything having to do with the occult and/or supernatural. It all tied in to that universal problem with 'bullies' and searching for power. So, "The Sixth Sense" was one of many favorites I enjoyed as a kid.
