The Lockheed L-188A intentionally flew into hazardous weather and was unable to with stand the forces and disintegrated around 20,000 feet. My Mom and Dad were passengers on this plane as was my husband's brother. Amazingly, a 17 year old girl survived and walked out of the jungle 10 days later. My brother (then age 5) and I (then age 7) returned to family in the states, early February 1972.
