Season 6 of "CHiPs" (1982-1983) was the best b/c of the new jazzed up theme song, promos with the guitars/synthesizers that go doo-doo-doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo-doo & the Surfer Bum CHP rookies the Nelson Brothers Bobby "Hot Dog" Nelson (Tom Reilly) & Cadet/Officer Bruce Nelson (Bruce Penhall)...they also saved some of the best car "gags" (stunts) for last! But TNT's TV Movie "CHiPs '99" (aired October 27, 1998) was a real letdown. The aforementioned Bobby Nelson (Tom Reilly) wasn't even in it, for mysterious reasons! Also the much-needed good quality story just wasn't there. TNT said there'll be no more "CHiPs" movies b/c they didn't reach the right audience demographic with "CHiPs '99", but never say never! I'm never giving up!
