    C&T trivia item

I just thought I would share a bit of trivia with the rest of the Captain and Tennille fans. Most fans don't know that the popular rock-n-roll queen "Cher", actually approached Toni Tennille and asked her if she wouldn't mind writing a song for her. Toni wrote "The Is Not The First Time", but as Toni explains, by the time she finished writing the song in its entirety, Cher and gotten into heavy, heavy rock-n-roll with her band "Black Rose", and decided the song wasn't rock-n-roll enough for her, so she turned it down. However, Toni decided to record the song with the Captain and it became a million seller for the group. I still like the idea that Cher had enough confidence in Toni Tennille's writing ability to ask her to write a song for her. I would have been honored. Regarding The Captain and Tennille Show, it became a permanent fixture every Monday Night at 8pm. on ABC. I don't remember how many episodes of the show there were but I would guess probably around 17 or 18. The show had fantastic guests, i.e. "Charlie's Angeles", "Heart", "The Happy Days cast", John Travolta, Bob Hope, and the list goes on and on. I would really like to see the show in re-runs but am told due to the copyright laws the show cannot be re-broadcast or reproduced. The Captain and Tennille Show was true entertainment!
