    Memories of Holmes & Yoyo

I remember the robot always malfunctioning on the show and homle's would have to hit him to get him to be alright. It was a good funny family show I wish they would replay it.

I was 14 and this was my favorite show. I was heartbroken when they cancelled it. I wrote ABC a long letter, suggesting they move the time slot, because they put it up against All in the Family and MASH. This was murder. I will never forget the day when I opened the tv guide in late summer and saw the RETURN of Holmes & YoYo, in the time slot I SUGGESTED to ABC. I thought for sure they listened to me - little did I know they were burning off episodes. I wish I could find it somewhere, but it's too obscure and there were too few episodes for anyone to re-run it.

Re: Memories of Holmes & Yoyo

Well, in 1976, when this show premiered, I was eight years old. I was quiet the budding geek at the time, and I sought after any vaguely sci-fi show.

The episode that I remember most clearly was one where Yoyo was overheating/breaking down. He was "sweating", though it wa more acurately steam. Holmes handed him a hanky with which to mom his brow. When Yoyo placed it to his head, it made a sound like an iron hitting a wet shirt. He handed it back and Holmes asked how much he charged for a pair of pants. At the end of the show, Yoyo was funning down (very slow speech was the indicator of this) because his power core was failing. Holmes pulls up behind him in his car and pushes him (with Yoyou standing stiffly strait up in front) to a power relay station, positions Yoyo's hands up above his head, and pushes him into some exposed leads which charges him up. Yoyo is so charged up that he dances back to town, telling Holmes he'll meet him there.

I think of this show (which ran less than a season) every time I see John Schuck; I even saw him as villian of the week on one of the Law and Order shows last week, and the first thing I thought about was Holmes and Yoyo.
