    Redd Foxx's #1 Fan!

I have to be Redd Foxx's bigest fan. I was heart broken when he died. Sanford & Son is and will always be my absolute favorite TV show EVER. I'm beginning the process of collecting all of the videos from eBay. I could watch Sanford & Son all day everyday if I could.

I am THE Sanford & Son Fan. Everyone messes with me about my obsession with this show. I can't miss any episode of it, even though I have seen every episode a million times! I know every line. I love every episode of S&S because it gives me the opportunity to hear the catchphrases that have become a part of my life, including "You big dummy!, " "Five across yo' lips" and "I'm comin' to join ya honey!" But my favorite episode by far has to be "Steinberg & Son, " in which Rollo gives his cousin an idea for a TV show, based on Fred and Lamont's life. I laughed my behind off when Fred jumped on dude after he called him a "Nothing!" Another memorable episode was "Superflyer, " in which Lamont begrudgingly tries to help Fred get over his fear of airplanes to collect $1500 from his deceased uncle's will. Some funny lines included: "Oh, ain't gon' make it!!!"; "We came all the way out here to sign a check?! I'll be damned!" "What the hell y'all starin' at? Y'all ain't never seen nobody have a heart attack before?!" "Anybody want some chicken wings? Some chicken wings, FOOL!" "Uncle Leotis is dead?" "I don't wanna see that clown! I knew it was something about that chump I didn't like. And he was ugly; he had one good eye and that one was sneaky. He had a big peanut shaped head, and everytime it rained it formed a big puddle of water. " And my favorite line of all, "He looked like a fried monkey in the face. " Timeless.

Yup, I have to agree with all the previous posts, Redd is AWESOME! One of my favorite episodes is the one where he helps out his friend Bowlegs do his nightclub act, the songs they do are great! And the owner of the club was funny too. . . . . "He's walkin'. . . he's walkin!!!. . . . " I am so glad I saw Redd Foxx do his stand-up act in Vegas, it was great to get a chance to see him live.

This show was an accurate comedic depiction of Afro-American life in the ghetto of south-central LA, a much more mimetic and honest portrayal than the fairy tale feel-good nonsense barfed up by that dreadful "Cosby" show years later. Red Foxx was very, very good as Fred and D. Wilson was more than adequate as Lamont. The Fred-Aunt Esther ongoing battle was hilarious. Whitman Mayo as Grady was an absolute scream. One of the best TV sitcoms, ever. . .

I am such the Sanford & Son fan! I have all six seasons of that show on dvd. If I were to pick a show that I really liked it would be "Pops and Pals". Especially the part where Fred, Lamont and Julio are in the mexican restaurant and the waiter comes up and asks Fred what he wants and Fred says "I want neckbones, blackeye peas, candied sweet potatoes and mustard greens. I die laughing everytime I watch that episode. Another would be "Superflyer". The funniest part is when Fred pulls out this greasy bag of chicken wings and tries to sell them to the people is coach class. . . saying: "Hey, anybody back here wanna buy some chicken wings? Chicken wings fool!" That was truly a great sitcom.
