    Loved this underrated show!

Very underrated show. David Jansenn made Harry quite the lovable character. Loved the friendly rivelry between Harry and Lt. Manny Quinlan(Henry Darrow). Both wonderful actors! The first season was my favorite! Reruns would be great!

In my opinion, one of the best TV detective series ever produced. The second season chemistry between Lt. Trench and Orwell was the highlight of the show. Its unique use of first person narration was a most welcome part of the series and thus made it stand alone. Unfortunately, the head of the ABC network in 1976 cancelled the show because it wasn't one of his! The ratings were excellent at the time. It's a shame that network politics was responsible for cancelling an all-time classic. One of David Janssen's best TV roles!

Perhaps the best scene ever in any detective show: Lt. Trench and Harry discussing a case while eating peanut butter on crackers. Not the most intelligble dialogue but making them such real people. I followed that series faithfully!
