Excellent production values. Funniest episode was where Long Boy Chris Connelly) bribed Reverend Durflinger with a gold monogrammed bible to name little Addy Pray (Foster) winner of a free engine rebuild in a Shirley Temple lookalike/talent contest. Since he only had enough gold leaf for the letters "Durf," Connelly covered the rest of the name with his thumb. All the other little girls in the contest were dressed and coifed like Shirley Dimples and sang songs like "The Good Ship Lollypop." Jodie came out in her boy's bib overalls, boyish haircut and in her gravelly voice sang a communist worker's song. When Rev. Durf... named her the winner, the town rioted.
