    Favorite episodes of The Rookies

I liked the one where Willie Gillis was shot and temporarily paralized. I enjoyed the show, particularily Michael Ontkean.

Re: Favorite episodes of The Rookies

I loved All the Rookies episodes featuring Mike and Jill Danko. They made the show for me. I really liked the episode "Journey To Oblivion". Jill witnessed a murder, and the murderer hired a hitman to murder HER. Mike was shot and Jill was kidnapped. I loved the touching scenes in which Mike and Jill each thought of one another, while they were kept apart. Also, the acting was superb by every actor in this episode. It was also very action-packed. I loved The Rookies, and wish it would come on DVD soon. Even my 10 year old son watches and likes this show.

Re: Favorite episodes of The Rookies

Watching THE ROOKIES brings back memories of watching it when i was 8 years old. especially episode 6. - TIME IS THE FIRE. That was very clever how a guy disguised himself as a policeman to kidnap a girl. It's also weird about how many chances one would have to locate a child they gave up for adaoption like Lt. Ryker did when he found out certain information about the kidnapped girl. and the kidnapper being played by William Windom only adds to more the reason why that was my favorite episode of the entire series.

Have never seen the rerun Death Watch when Willie gets meningitis. That was my favorite. I use to audio tape the episodes by holding my tape recorder up to the tv.

Re: Favorite episodes of The Rookies

I have loved this show ever since it first aired in the early Super70s.

I was about 10 years old when it first aired, and I love it as much today as I did then. I cannot believe for the life of me why this TV great has not been put onto DVD. I was at Best Buy the other day and it seems that every TV show is out on DVD but not the Rookies.

This show was well written for its time (kinda outdated now, but hey, its over 30 years since it first came on). I really feel that one can relate the the officers' comeraderie both on and off the job.

So many TV shows today are purely junk, but maybe today's generation is just different from mine of the Super70s. I was glad when TV Land finally put the Rookies on their roster, but was just as disappointed when they only aired the first 35 episodes. Viewing this show really took me back 3 decades when this world was not the crazy place it is today.

My favorite episodes were--and still are--"Lots of Trees and Running Stream", the episode with "Marly"--can't remember the title--, "A Bloody Shade of Blue" and "Timelock". Most of them were excellent, but one cannot remember them all, since it's no longer on the airwaves.

I have a few VHS copies made from TV Land, but they are really incomplete, since there are so many commercials. Maybe one of these days it will be put onto DVD, uncut, so this great show can be enjoyed once again!
