Maybe someone out there could help me? In the 60's a couple girls and myself decided to drive down to California (from Vancouver, Washington) and along the way we picked up a hitchhiker. He was on his way to California also . . . but where we were going there to see Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm . . . he was heading there to become a television writer.
Miles after mile we talked and it was easy to see that "being a writer" was a sincere interest of this young man, we gave a ride to, and his GOAL was to make a name for himself in Hollywood as a writer. In our discussions he seemed interested in many things and in the things we did and talked about. In our conversations I talked about myself and my writing interests and ideas and the fact that I was a bit shy with women and collected on Mr. Bob Hope. We talked about Mr. Hope and his movies and songs from the "Road to. . . " movies and our writing interest quit a bit. . .
A few years later . . . back at home I tuned into an episode of "Love American Style" and there is the actor Ross Martin as an avid fan of Mr. Bob Hope, singing Bob Hope songs and a bit shy with the women. When the credits rolled. . . I will bet you money the name of the writer of that episode is THE SAME GUY we picked up hitchhiking. I saw the name in the credits . . . and racked my brain to remember his name (I'm not the best with names) and I am dead sure it was the same name and THIS SAME GUY!!
Years rolled by and tonight (for what reason I don't know) I remember this happening and this episode. Once and for all I'd like to see if this is the guy (so I'm starting by posting this letter). Please does anyone remember this episode? Does anyone know where I could locate a list of the credits (including writer) of this episode? And then I will go from there. . . Hopefully I can find this guy and ask him . . . I'm just interested to know. In all honesty . . . ross Martin and I have alot of similar characteristics . . .
