    Scariest Ghost Story episode

The scariest show I ever saw was a Ghost Story episode. In the story a couple with a newborn baby girl live in a house in which a woman died who was childless, yet longed for a baby. The dead woman comes back and tries to take the baby from the young woman who lives there. In this one scene the ghost is disguised in the shadows on the staircase. She tells the maid to go home before the bad thunderstorm hits. The maid thinks it is the lady of the house speaking to her and leaves. The ghost then ascends the stairs. The young woman is upstairs and sees the ghost coming. She runs into her bedroom, locks the door and stands in front of her baby in her crib. The ghost blows the door open, stretchs her hands out and crys "The baby, the baby!" as she comes toward the mother....... That's all I remember - I shut my eyes from that point on. If anyone can recall the rest or better yet, where I can see this again, let me know.

How about the episode with Janet Leigh? She was the wife of a butterfly collector. Her husband had a whole collection of butterflies pinned to a wall on display. The wife killed her husband for some reason and he came back to haunt her with his face on the butterflies. She was screaming when she saw them. She backed into a nail on the wall and died. The next scene is of her screaming face on the body of a butterfly. It was great!

I'm with you Marianne! I can remember the ghost saying "The baby" or maybe "Give me the baby. " I have never forgotten that and I've been looking for a copy for a long time. I can't remember any other episodes but I can clearly remember Sebastian Cabot hosting the show.

I remember one in which a boy bullies another boy and eventually kills him and their "grandmother?" She comes back from the dead to teach him a lesson. I remember her dragging him around by the ear.

What about the one about the little wooden horse that kept growing. I remember when they tried to burn it in the fireplace it jumped out. Only now it was bigger and uglier. This episode was titled "Dark Vengeance" stared Martin Sheen and I forgot the name of his wife. Recall that one? That one episode always stayed with me. Kind of freaked me out back in 1973 but then again I was only 8 years old. I purchased that episode on e-bay a few years ago.
