The best thing about the show was getting to look at Mac for maybe a half hour out of the hour. That face, those blue, blue eyes, all that curly hair. And the rest was just as good lookin' too. Since I own all of his albums, you might say I love the voice and the songs as well, and still listen to them every day. Mac performed in lots of ways that were unique and interesting, such as "hambone" and "eefing" and he could also dance. He sang many of the hundreds of wonderful songs he wrote.
One special part of the show was when he asked someone in the audience to make up a silly song title, and then he would write words to that song right there on stage. People would try to stump him with some really crazy titles, but Mac always came through. He had guest stars each week, but also had some regular acts on the show that were terrific.
Shields and Yarnell were a mime team (husband and wife) who were so talented and very cute. He also had a break-dancing team that great. You didn't have to make your children leave the room either - the music and fun was always in good taste. My children loved to watch the show with me. I am trying to get those shows put out on DVD so I can watch them again.
