    Memories of The Virginian

I loved the music and the opening scenes where James Drury was galloping along. I had lots of favorite episodes, the Virginian took a hurd of cattle to Canada was one. It was on so many years the ranch owner kept changing and there were great guest stars, William Shatner, Robert Redford, Leonard Nemoy, Eric Braeden. Steve was my favorite ranch hand, but I liked Randy Boone and LQ Jones. I think I can even remember David Hartman and Tim Matheson. Hallmark Channel is currently showing episodes on Saturday.

    Re: Memories of The Virginian

Growing up during the 60's and being an avid western fan which is most unusual for a woman, this is just one of the many I watched and still do on the Hallmark Channel on Saturdays. Last week Robert Redford was one of the guest stars, portraying an ex-con who tries to go straight.

I know some people think these are corny, but to me they represent a simple time in our history and usually demonstrate some good values.

I hope they all remain on television on some network, to bring joy and nostalgia to the ones who love them.
