Where was it filmed? Where is the hotel?

I have been trying to find out where the exterior shots of the hotel used in The Duchess of Duke Street were filmed. I love this BBC drama series and would aprreciate it if anyone could let me know the above information. Thanks

The hotel was the Cavendish (not the Cumberland) on Jermyn Street in London. The original building was demolished and a new Cavendish built quite a few years ago.

I don't know where the film was shot for the exteriors. The actual Cavendish Hotel, is at the corner of Duke & Jermyn Streets in London. Sadly, it looks modern, but there is a plaque outside for Rosa Lewis. No memorabilia (disgraceful !) inside the hotel.  The original hotel was destroyed during the Blitz.

    Hi Joey,

I wish to correct your statement that the Cavendish Hotel was destroyed during the Blitz, It was actually hit by a bomb during the blitz and badly damaged, But it was NOT destroyed and although shaken up and injured the feisty Rosa Lewis stubbornly refused to leave her beloved Cavendish Hotel.

The Cavendish Hotel was managed by Edith Jeffrey(Mary in the TV series) for a long time after Rosa Lewis died 8/11/52. The Cavendish was eventually demolished(I can not recall what year that was). But a new building now stands on the original site and there is a plaque dedicated to the memory of Rosa Lewis on the site.
