    Memories of Good Neighbors

Absolutely hilarious! One of the best! This quartet were perfect together. Thanks to the British for knowing how to go out on top, instead of grinding along until nobody cares anymore.

    Re: Memories of Good Neighbors

I watched “Good Neighbors/The Good Life” as a teenager every night on PBS and loved it. I recently have been re-watching the tapes I made of it and I am enjoying it tremendously. I wish more television shows had the humor and heart of this one. It shows married couples that actually enjoy each other’s company (well at least Tom and Barbara), and alludes to a healthy sex life without being crude. It has friends and neighbors that do not always see eye to eye, but still have affection for each other. It also has wonderful, hilarious characterizations that manage to go over the top and yet still believably hang on to their humanity.

As I watch all of the episodes I own, I find myself laughing aloud often. This from a show that was made before I was born, in a country that I have never lived in and I still can relate to the characters and situations. A wonderful ensemble cast has carried this show so well, it is still great fun even after 30 years.

I just wish I could get all of the episodes – in order – on DVD.
