    Memories of Longstreet

I liked them all! I actually viewed them from the Panama Canal Zone during the Super70s months after the original airing. We were still getting Perry Mason from the 50's then. James Franciscus is *still* my heartthrob!

Without a doubt the most implausible program in television history. A blind insurance investigator. Why not a show about a deaf air traffic controller? Or a show about a paraplegic navy frogman? Or a show about a mentally retarded rocket scientist? I remember watching this show once (I was maybe 15 years old at the time), and being unable to suspend disbelief, never tuned in again. Seeing that the show only limped through one season, millions of other would-be viewers probably felt the same way. But then again, James Franciscus was associated with quite a few noteworthy flops like "Mr. Novak" and "Youngblood Hawke."

Mike Longstreet is considered THE BEST investigator in New Orleans! It is this reputation that almost costs him his life! Instead, an explosion that was meant to kill him, took from him two precious things: his wife, and his sight. Undaunted, Longstreet continued his pursuit of solving crimes and continues to hold onto his title, clearly demonstrating that he can do more than just "function."
