    Memories of Schoolhouse Rock!

Being born in the late "Awesome80s, I did not have the oppornunity to watch SchoolHouse Rock on television. But, in school we used to watch the video tapes. It's how I learned my conjunctions, multiplication tables, and about the Revolutionary War. Now, as a 15 year old in 10th grade, I used the History Rock to relearn about the Revolution, the pilgrims. I can still sing the songs in my head. Even though most kids in my school call Schoolhouse Rock "stupid", I still enjoy watching the episodes, and sometimes even sing along."

Happily (and Puppily), I was born in 1968 and was 5 when these future Sat. Morning classics first aired. I watched all of the originals and along with Sesame Street, Electric Company and a few other educational shows, I was truly ahead of my game upon entering Kindergarten and then Elementary. Even though I'm a man, my favorite song & clip was, "Sufferin' 'til Sufferage." That song rocks! Second place to,"Verb,That's What's Happenin'"! I had these on video for awhile but I gave them to my God-Daughter who's 8. Pass it on, ya know!

    Re: Memories of Schoolhouse Rock!

I was born in 1966 so I was lucky enough to enjoy all the benefits of Schoolhouse Rock. My favorites though were always the songs of Multiplication Rock. I remember watching all of those favorite Sid & Marty Kroft cartoons and just hoping that we'd get to see one of the skits. I saved my allowance money for weeks in order to buy the album, yes I said album. . . that big, black, round, vinyl things that you use a turntable and needle with!!! At 8 or 9 years old my record collection was very limited and adding to it was a rareity.

Believe it or not, I still have that exact same record album, still in its original sleeve! It may have seen some better days but it brings a smile to my face anytime I hear one of those songs. In fact, it not only helped me learn my multiplication tables early on, I made a tape of the album and used to play it in the car for my daughter. At the time she didn't know that the songs she was enjoying were actually teaching her multiplication tables to her. Now at 10 years old she realizes her mother's devious methods and appreciates them. . . I myself appreciate having had the fortunate opportunity to be exposed to Grammar Rock in my elementary years. It always made learning fun and I am sure it will for many more years and generations to come!!!!

    Re: Memories of Schoolhouse Rock!

I was born in the early Super70s and remember vividly the Schoolhouse Rock series. It was fantastic! My friends and I didn't fully realize we were actually getting an education on a Saturday morning; we just wanted to sing along. I can still remember the words to "Conjunction Junction" and "I'm Just a Bill" just as much as I remember any of the Temptations songs. It all just comes back easily and effortlessly. Even now, as an American History teacher, I use the History Rocks video because my students simply gets more involved with the video as opposed to any of the powerpoint presentation I have. And everytime I watch the video, it bings me "back in the day'.
