I remember a regular bit on their show was Jack Burns driving
a taxi and Avery Schrieber as his passenger. Burns would start yakkin' about
something like, "On the way to Yankee Stadium, I ran into a lotta traffic, yuh
know?" Avery would then respond with "Yeah. " Burns again would repeat the
"Huh?" Avery, "Yeah, " Burns again with "Huh?", and finally Avery would finally
say, "Yeah, lotta traffic. " And Burns would end it with "Yeah, " and continue
in the same vein. I thought it was one of the funniest comedy routines of
all-time along with Abbot and Costello's "Who's On First. " My son is autistic
and doesn't speak much, but he can respond to me when I play Burns' role in the
taxi and it just cracks him up. It's one of the ways we connect - so thank you
Jack and Avery.
