    A "rural Barney Miller"

This actually was a good sitcom. It was funny, good cast and was a kind of Barney Miller in the rural sense. And had a title of the president at that time! Kind of like a "GMC Jimmy...Carter!!" I liked the show. Much better than today's dumb who sleeping with who cop out story lines...ala "Friends". It made sense and was enjoyable and featured a diverse (ethnic) cast. Two thumbs up!! Reminded me of a show called "Mr. Mayor"...an obscure "Barney Miller type" Super70s show.

    Good deal!!

I remember an episode in which they had to deal with the son of a redneck deputy who had spray painted a racist remark on the garage of the only black deputy. I feel they handled that very well.
