Love, American Style was one of my favorite shows broadcast on
ABC on Friday nights in the early Super70s. Back then, I was too young to date, drive, or otherwise party on Friday nights. So, what I saw on TV those nights had to keep me entertained, and LAS certainly fit the bill. It was different, in that it was an hour-long comedy anthology show, composed of separate stories within its hour-long time-slot. Many stellar guest-stars appeared on the show during its run, such as Ron Howard, Irene Ryan (Granny from the Beverley Hillbillies) and many others. The series "
Happy Days" was actually a spin-off from a story on LAS, which was about an all-american family in Milwaukee, WI during the 50s. I don't think LAS is in syndication anymore, which is a shame, since it was one of the Super70s TV comedy classics.
