I was born in 1971 and I am the only one in my family who remembers this sitcom. I remember the barber pole and Mama always favoring "Leonard". I do remember I liked it from what I could understand. I just wish I could find a copy of one of the episodes on video to refresh my memory.

Junior was the man. He had all the cats in school saying "Ohhhhhweeeeee!"

    Re: That's My Mama memories

This was a great show. I was also born in 1971 and all of my sibblings are older than I am and when often reminisce of the Afrcian American TV Sitcoms and wonder why BET does not show them instead of videos all the time and especially in the evening. The old African American TV sitcoms were more about family and had value unlike some of the shows today that degrade blacks, especially women (i. e. Girlfriends, who constantly call each other out of their names). Where can I purchase a copy of That' My Mama? Thanks for having a website about African American sitcoms.

I love the show and wish they would show it on the "TV LAND" Network. I believe that's where the recent "Barber Shop Movie" may have gotten their idea from.

My favorite part was when the Postman-Ted Lang would come in and say, "I GOT, I GOT IT, AND I GOT TO REPORT!"
