    Favorite Kolchak episodes

The very best "episode" was the first pilot movie with Barry Atwater as Janos Skorzeny, the most terrifying vampire ever filmed. Next would have to be the Zombie episode, if only for the scene when the zombie opens his eyes suddenly while Kolchak fills his mouth with salt. Talk about peeing your pants! "Chopper" is also right up there. If they ever did a remake of Kolchak, "Chopper" would be a great one to use. I first watched these shows when I was 12, so I was definitely scared, and I still get a thrill from them.

Kolchak the Night Stalker movies and televison series were one of the best to come out because it had such a wondeful cast, perfect blend of fright and comedy and background music, despite the later series hokey effects.

The Las Vegas vampire episode was one of the best. Darren McGavin, Jack Grinnage, Simon Oakland and so many more great talents still amaze me when I am fortunate enough to see it on SCIFI.
