I worked till 9:00p.m I would rush home we would make tea and english muffins, it would be all done before 10pm when Marcus Welby would start.We both loved that tv show.To tell u the truth, we looked at him as a real doctor. When my wife was carring my oldest daughter who is 28 now ,we still watched that show.Many of his show were tear jerkers, but we loved him.Our Doctor who delivered my 2 daughters were almost like Dr.Welby.We love him he bcame the Doctor every wanted.

Marcus Welby is one of my very favorites and I search the Internet often to see if it has been produced on video and DVD. My favorite episode was #4 called Silken Threads and Silver Hooks. The compassion portrayed in this character and his always caring, gentle nature is, I think, what made him a favorite in the hearts of many!

I watched Marcus Welby when I was a kid/teen and now watch reruns when I can. The shows were always full of compassion and often touched on real life issues. Both doctors Welby and Kiley were examples of what a real Doctor should be. In my case it was a double facination. I loved the show and was lucky enough to have the real "Dr Welby" as my doctor. His name was/is Dr Mauris Young. I never had the courage to ask if they were related and still wonder about it. My Doctor looked and sounded so much like Dr. Welby they could have been identical twins! They even had the same bed side manner. I have often wondered if the show might have been based on my Doctor. Does anyone know the answer to my question? Either way the show was great and when I watch it now it brings back happy memories. This may not be what you were looking for but I just wanted to say Hats Off to the show, actors and any Doctors who watched and learned how to be a "real" doctor.
