Demond Wilson's comeback in Baby, I'm Back

Baby, I'm Back was Demond Wilson's 1st sitcom after the end of Sanford & Son in 1977. The series plot was a that Demond's character tries to manipulate his way back into his ex-wife's life in an attempt to win her back and resume their former 9 year marriage. The only other characters I recall are his daughter, played by an 8 or 9 year old Kim Fields who later played Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey on The Facts Of Life. Also, his mother-in-law played by the same actress who was always sitting in the first story window on NBC's "227". The show only lasted about a season andthe only episode that comes to mind is when he finally gets his wife alone with no interference and it looks like the old magic is there. Then the whoe family comes pratically busting through the door and ruins the moment. So her mother doesn't get started she asks him to leave. It was a pretty amusing show but it just didn't catch on. Too bad.

Hey! I remeber that! Happi-Puppi left out that his wife had legally declared him dead and that was the real reason for his wanting to reconcile. He had left her in 1971 because he didn't like the pressures of being married. I know how long this show ran also. It ran from January 1978 to August. I thought it was really funny but it never came back. See ya,Super Super70s!

This was a GREAT sitcom. Demond "Ray" and Denise "Olivia" had a great chemistry. Kim Fields "Angie" was really cute. I wish the African American sitcoms of today (2000's) show more respect for being an African American and not calling each other out their names (i. e. Girlfriends who use the word for a female dog like it's nothing and that all African American women in their 30's call each other out of their name). I wish BET would show these great African American sitcoms instead of just showing music videos and comedy that only talks about sex. Where can I purchase this on DVD? Keep it up Super70's!
