As a child growing up I remember watching all the great TV shows like S.W.A.T. and CHiPS. Being a young boy I thought these guys were cool. They seemed to be role models for my friends and I because they seemed to always be professional in doing their duties as police officers. I guess this is why I became a police officer and eventualy became a SWAT / Emergency Service officer. I always seem to remember that guys like Ponch and John were not involved in shootouts in every episode rather they used their verbal judo skills and manged to talk their way out of situations. They were not only cops but they were human beings as well...just like cops today!!!
