    Favorite episodes of The Virginian

The Virginian was surely the best ever TV Western Series. The most excellent episode was No 65 'Felicity's Spring. ' This was a very moving and sentimental episode in which the Virginian (James Drury) fell in love with the beautiful Medicine Bow schoolmistress Felicity Andrews superby played by Katherine Crawford. Unknown to all but her family Felicity had a heart condition from which she could die at any time. She was the most super girl ever being attractive and having a lovely placid face.

A brief but very sentimental courtship followed but sadly Felicity died in the Virginian's arms. When the episode had finished I felt I wanted it to continue for ever - I never thought another story could ever take its place. Another excellent episode was 'Stopover in a Western Town' in which Dick York played a former Shiloh hand who had got involved in bad company. Eventually he got into a gun battle with the Virginian and was shot by the latter on the steps of the Grand Teton Hotel in Medicine Bow. If only we could see these excellent episodes again!
