Wasn't this the flight with one little girl survivor? Her mom covered her in the crash.

I remember when I was a kid that there was a DC-10 crash in Chicago in which one little girl survived. She was around 2 or 3 and they said the reason she survived was because her mother literally wrapped her body around her.

Does anyone else remember something like this?

    Hello!
Actually, you are remembering the Northwest Airlines flight that crashed on takeoff in Detroit around 1989 that claimed the life of Phoenix Suns rookie center Nick Vanos and many others. Yes, a small child was the sole survivor as you describe. The Chicago crash was unsurvivable.

I guess I do not recall it happening that late in my life. 1989 put me in college...graduating actually, and I am positive it happened when I was younger.hmmm

Sorry, but you're wrong. It happened in August of 1987. I remember cause I was taking a flight the next day and was just a tad nervous. I am not a nervous flyer, I love to fly, but this time I was a little bit. Planes usually crash either during take off or landing. I think it happened on August 16 or 17, somewhere around there. You can always google it and it will tell you all the details.
