1972 when I was about 7yrs old my aunt was dating a guy who imported a 68 Shelby Mustang. On the weekends she would leave her Morris 1100 with him and scive off in the Shelby. I was very aware this car was something special, something you only saw in US car magazines. Dads Vanguard was nothing like this. She was so short she needed a cushion to see over the dash board, would pick me and my brother up, and we'd go out cruising with a bunch of girls from her netball team. All the kids in the neighbourhood would come over to scope it out. Was very rare to see a Shelby Mustang in this part of the world, both then and today. Some things you never forget.
