I have a GREAT story about this show.  One time my mom was talking to some friend of my dad's mother, who was in the brodcasting industry (this person "invented" the organ music played during soap operas) So, my mom was telling her this story of how my parents & their friends were over & the men were playing a hockey game & the women were making candied apples & chicken livers.  So my mom tells my dad to close his eyes & put a chicken liver in his mouth.  He made & grimace & said "I thought you were going to give me a candied apple!" So, one day my parents were watching this show & the EXACT same scene was played out!!! My mom still wonders what other stories she told this woman ended up on the show.
