    Memories of Captain and Tennille

The thing that I remember the most about the Captain and Tennille show is the fact that when the show was airing, the Captain and Tennille also made their smash hit "Love Will Keep Us Together." The Captain and Tennille recorded the spanish version of Love Will Keep Us Together, "Por Amor Viviremos" which also hit number one on the charts at the very same time the English version did, making Captain And Tennille the only artists to have two versions of the same song on the charts at the same time and hitting the number one spot. Pretty impressive huh?. I don't know for sure how many episodes the show ran, however each episode featured some of the top performs in musical history. Captain and Tennille ROCK. Their music will live on forever and has become a part of all of our lives. Way to go Toni and Daryl!

I also remember watching The Captain and Tennille Show every Monday night. I seem to remember that they had alot of big name guest, one show in particular I remember had Mannfred Mann's Earth Band on it.

I was Nine when this show aired, and my main recollections were of Toni Tennille and the Captain playing their music, and little skits such as "The Bionic Watermelon".

    Toni & Daryl are still married. . . . I guess love really DID keep them Together. . . . :)

Re: Memories of Captain and Tennille

What can you say there is no other duo act like Captain and Tennille. Before Michael Jackson had 'the glove' and Madonna the hoochie look, Captain and Tennile had their trademarks. The hat! Her famous hairdoo and of course those loveable bull dogs.

Each week as I watched their show as a child I was mezmorized by them.

He was so quiet and timid, while she was so loud and outgoing. for some reason though it seemed to work. For me it was all about the music. They are so talented. I am angry that Toni does not get the diva recognition she deserves cause this woman even today can sing!!!

And show me someone else who can play a keyboard like the Captain. Yanni eat your heart out. They are even today my idols and #1 inspiration. It's because of them that I am a singer/songwriter myself thnks guys keep on rockin!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone remember the episode that had a skit entitled "Staircase and Hutch"? David Soul was the guest star, and played "Hutch" to. . . you guessed it. . . a staircase! I loved The Captain and Tennile. He had the biggest brown eyes I&'ve ever seen, and she reminded me a lot of one of my best friends. In fact, she seemed like the type of person you could be friends with, not as unapproachable as many stars are.

I am a longtime fan., ever since I first saw them on their television show.  I remember Toni dancing and singing and their theme song at the end which is "we never really say goodbye".  I hope that they bring the show back on TvLand.  I missed the one  when they had Marilyn Mccoo and Billy Davis jr. i have been a fan since 1977, and today the year is 2003. i am still a devoted fan
