This show showed how two single women could make it on their own. It was always a favorite of mine because of the dream sequences and the performances at the yearly talent show. Shirley was so conservative yet had a wild side and Laverne appeared to be an airhead but always amazed you. I loved the relationships that they developed with Lenny and Squiggy and the fact that they worked at a beer plant yet never really drank. I think it is a positive show for young girls to know they don't have to be married to be happy.
