Facts of LifeBy Anonymous
A quality sitcom, the Facts Of Life was about a group of girls
attending an elite boarding school, and their live-in housemother, Mrs.
Garrett. The show focused on four of the students: Jo, the tough girl from
the Bronx. Tootie, the fun-loving girl, Natalie, the plain girl and
Tootie's best friend, and Blair the rich, pretty girl.
Much of the humor was derived from the interactions of the four
distinctly different girls, and their misadventures at the school. Mrs.
Garrett, the housemother, was their sage confidant. The girls looked up to
her to help them solve their troubles as they each struggled with issues
at school, and in their personal lives. The Facts of Life was a good show
for the whole family.
TFOL wasn't afraid to tackle touchy contemporary subjects, which it
always did tastefully, and with sensitivity. Viewers the same age as the
girls in the show, could identify with their hassles as adolescents in the
process of growing-up in the Awesome80s.
The Facts of Life was such a great show, that it remained on the air
for many seasons, and has lived in syndication for well over a decade. I
highly recommend it, even to viewers who don't like sitcoms. This one will
grow on you, I promise.

I do love this show. I don't have a favorite episode because all of them are so well written and acted. The girls are so true to form. One is overweight and shy, one is into herself but finds out that no one else is like that, one is tough but with a soft side when broken down and the last one is just herself. --Maggie | Note: This is just a random sample of the Facts of Life messages in our TV forums!
