TOP SHOW

1975-1976 Television Season

The top five shows of 1975-76 were The Bionic Woman, Maude, Laverne & Shirley, Rich Man, Poor Man, with the most popular being All in the Family for the fifth straight season. (See below for the list of the top 30 programs.)

In January, Welcome Back, Kotter moved to Thursday to replace On the Rocks (which had indeed been on the rocks due to poor ratings) and to make way for Laverne & Shirley, which became an instant hit. Another popular show during this season was the syndicated Space: 1999.

Shows which began before 8:00 p.m. on Sundays, and therefore not on our grid below, included Swiss Family Robinson, Three for the Road, and The Wonderful World of Disney. Select a show below to read all about it and to share your memories!
